Junior High Students Learn What It Means To Serve – Carlos Montoya

In June thirty-three members of our Jr. High Ministry worked with the City of San Antonio Neighborhood Services to remove grafiti from an underpass of a 4 lane bridge and a spillway for a lake. The City of San Antonio was extremely impressed by the work ethic of our group. A project that they thought would take us all day to complete took us three hours! We were able to get more work done than they expected and they said that they “had never had a group of Jr. High students work this hard!” One of our students responsed to the praise from the City of San Antonio with “Don’t they know that we are First Baptist?” For over half of the group this was their first mission trp experience setting the standard that we here at First Baptist do missions on a glocal level. Beginning with our Jr. High Mission Trip we want to set the standard that we love to serve and not to be served!
