It has been such a blessing to watch the DMSC at work to help new missionaries to to the field and to support them once they are there. It still boggles the imagination that in a single local church God has put together a team that can do all of these things! The missionaries we have interviewed before they left for the field have each been a great inspiration. The group is already learning how to manage all the major functions of a missionary-sending agency and they have consistently responded with love and a very professional spirit to every challenge that has been thrown at them. Of all the things that I can say are wonderful about the sacrifices members make in attending long meetings and doing substantial work before the next meeting for the DMSC, the one thing that really stands out
to me is that when the group hits a problem and they are not sure of a solution, somebody always says “we really need to pray about that” and the whole committee just stops bows heads and prays. When the prayer is over, there are always new solutions and ways of framing the issues the group had not seen before, and in this way it is very clear and evident that God is directing our steps. The committee needs the prayers and support of the whole church as it “holds the ropes” for our missionaries who have gone out to foreign fields to serve the Lord.
